Location:

The Department of Adult Continuing Education’s (DACE) New Higher Education (HE) Foundation Certificate in Humanities is aimed at people who are ready to take their first steps into HE and gain a qualification in a supportive and encouraging environment. It is designed for adult students (18 years and over) who might want a longer lead into HE study.
 

The programme is taught on a part-time basis over two years (30 weeks) and requires students to attend classes for one day a week.
 

The programme is made up of compulsory and optional modules and allows students to develop an overview of Humanities related subjects – Psychology, Counselling, History, Sociology, English Literature, Study Skills and many more.

The programme starts in September 2011 and will be taught at the following community venues:- 

SWANSEA:

Action Resource Centre (The ARC) 45 Broughton Avenue, Portmead, SA5 5JS

Wednesday 21st September 9.30am-2.30pm

  

NEATH PORT TALBOT:

NSA Development Centre, Bevin Avenue, Sandfields, SA12 6JW

Thursday 29th September 9.30am-2.30pm

 

 CARMARTHENSHIRE:

Felinfoel Community Education Centre, Tanrhodyn Rd. Felinfoel SA15 4LN

Wednesday 28th September 10.00am-2.30pm

 

 PEMBROKESHIRE:

Pembroke Dock CommunitySchool, Bush St, Pembroke Dock, SA72 6LF

Thursday 29th September 1.30pm-6.00pm

  

The programme is FREE to eligible students who are in receipt of means tested benefits.
