 Funded Projects
In 2016/17, the panels across Wales funded 129 projects, enabling 1838 young people to get involved in their communities and helping 3682 other community members in the process

*53% of the 1838 young people had never volunteered before!

Healthy Image project (Conwy Youth Service) – Joe and Lauren

Our project supports young people aged 14 – 25 years to understand and live healthier lifestyles. Young people are trained as healthy image project volunteers to teach their peers about making healthy and safe choices in all aspects of life.

With funding from Cash4Youth (2016/17), 17 young volunteers ran an event for over 40 Conwy young carers at which a range of non-traditional sports and physical activity sessions took place. We had excellent feedback from parents and staff, who witnessed them in ways they had not seem them before. The young people reported that they enjoyed being able to take part in different types of sports without it feeling competitive or having pressure put on them.

We are very passionate about the project and the sessions that we run and would encourage other young people to come and meet us and just give volunteering a go. It has been a positive experience and we believe being part of the project has helped us to gain valuable skills and experiences that will help us in our careers in the future.

We hope to apply for funding this year to run a similar event which will be even bigger and better.
