MV50 Sport
MV50 Sport
At the Urdd Eisteddfod in June 2011, with the help of Young Ambassadors from Sport Wales, we signed up the first young people to work towards the new Award, which recognises 50 hours of volunteering in sport. This could be in local clubs, sports clubs, through schools, guided by 5 x 60 Officers or in any community setting. The new certificate is linked to the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics through the Inspire By mark and so there has never been a better time to get involved. Contact your nearest Volunteer Centre for more details.

You will need to sign up to MV through your Volunteer Centre or the organisation that you are volunteering with, but the Booklet contains some pages where you can record your hours once you have been signed up. There is not much paperwork involved and it is a simple process. You can then get recognition for the volunteering you do!
For organisations looking to sign up as MV50 Sport deliverers, there is a brief Expression of Interest to fill in, Contact dheald@wcva.org.uk and then we will meet with you to explain the MV process and the resource pack that you would need for running it.
The development of MV50 Sport has been funded by Sport Wales. It is overseen by the MV Sport Group, which also includes representatives from Sports Leaders UK and Street Games.
