There are a number of opportunities to get involved with GwirVol.

If you are aged 14-25:

Volunteer: Firstly you can volunteer! Find out about all the opportunities available to you in Wales through our Volunteering Pages.

GwirForce members: GwirForce is a group of young people who help to lead the GwirVol initiative by participating in meetings and decisions, sitting on grant panels and consulting with young people in Wales. GwirForce are all volunteers aged 14-25 with a passion for getting others involved in their communities. For more information about GwirForce and how to get involved click here.

Millennium Volunteers (MV): Millennium Volunteers recognises the sustained commitment young people give to volunteering through a 200 hour Award of Excellence signed by the First Minister for Wales. There are also milestone certificates of 50 and 100 hours. If you are already volunteering and would like to start counting your hours for the MV Award, or to find out more about MV opportunities, contact your Local Youth Volunteering Advisor.

New Opportunity Alert! Millennium Volunteers Grant Panel Members: Millennium Volunteers is currently looking for young people to become a part of their Grants Advisory Panel. This involves helping Millennium Volunteers to give out grants to organisations that need financial assistance to become delivery partners. If you are an organisation:

Grants: GwirVol offers a number of grants to help organisations build capacity and develop youth volunteering programmes. If you can offer or would like to develop youth volunteering opportunities for young people aged 14-25 in Wales and are seeking financial assistance please visit our grants pages.

Getting involved locally: You can contact your local Youth Volunteering Advisor for information about how to advertise your opportunities, help in applying for grants and much much more. You can also find out what is happening locally on the news and what’s on pages.

Millennium Volunteers: If you already have opportunities that are suitable for young people and that could offer 200 hours of volunteering over a 12 month period you could be eligible for delivery partner status and offer the award to your current and new volunteers.
